Certified Public Accountant (CPA) 

The Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is a globally recognized credential for accounting, auditing, taxation, and financial advisory professionals. It is issued by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and regulated by state boards of accountancy in the United States.

CPA Course & Exam 

 CPA Eligibility Requirements

📌 To become a CPA, candidates must meet three key requirements:

  1. Education
    • A bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or business is required.
    • Most states require 150 credit hours of coursework, which is usually equivalent to a bachelor's + master’s degree.
  2. Examination
    • Must pass the Uniform CPA Exam, which consists of four sections.
  3. Experience
    • 1-2 years of supervised work experience under a licensed CPA.
    • Experience can be in public accounting, industry, government, or academia.

CPA Exam Structure

The CPA Exam is conducted by the AICPA and consists of four sections, each lasting four hours.

📌 Total Exam Time: 16 hours (each exam is 4 hours).
📆 Time to Complete CPA: 12-18 months (maximum 30 months).

CPA Certification Process

Step 1: Meet the education requirements (150 credit hours).
Step 2: Apply for the CPA exam and get approval from your State Board of Accountancy.
Step 3: Pass all 4 exam sections within 30 months.
Step 4: Gain 1-2 years of work experience under a licensed CPA.
Step 5: Apply for CPA licensure from your state board.
